The Clay County District Schools is proud to offer robust Career and Technical (CTE) programs at each Junior High and Senior High School. Students are introduced to a wide variety of career paths with the ultimate goal of students being college AND career ready. Students are able to choose from the following areas:
Aerospace
Agriculture
Automotive
Business
Computer Systems/IT/Cybersecurity
Construction including Carpentry, Drafting, Electrical, HVAC, and Welding
Criminal Justice
Culinary
Digital Media including TV Production, Digital Photography, Digital Design, and 3-D Animation
Early Childhood Education
Engineering
Fashion Design
Fire Fighting
Health Science
Hospitality and Tourism
Students can participate in work-based learning activities in and outside the classroom, work with business partners, take field trips, participate in Career Shadowing, earn nationally-recognized industry certification and join Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). Our 130+ teachers serve thousands of students each year. Teachers are masters in their field and are certified by the Department of Education or come from industry and are issued a district certified through the state.
Business partners and community leaders provide real-world experiences for CTE students by hosting field trips, serving as guest speakers, conducting mock job interviews, serving as competition judges, and more! Business partners also serve on 14 different advisory boards where they advise, assist, and advocate for CTE programs.
