Important information regarding the use of FortifyFL by your child(ren):

Per the Florida Department of Education, all school districts in Florida will educate parents and guardians on the threats and the consequences of making a threat or false report via FortifyFL. FortifyFL is a valuable tool for reporting safety concerns, but it is important for students to understand that falsely using this system has serious consequences. Even if intended as a joke, submitting a false report can lead to:

  • School disciplinary action, including possible expulsion

  • Arrest and legal charges

  • Financial responsibility for the costs of the investigation

Please talk with your child(ren) about the seriousness of this issue. Explain that false threats disrupt the learning environment, take away resources from real safety concerns, and can have lasting consequences for the individual making the report.

We encourage you to help us promote responsibility and respect by reminding your child to:

  • Use FortifyFL only for its intended purpose

  • Report any genuine safety concerns to a trusted adult

  • Think carefully about their actions and the possible outcomes

To further highlight the importance of this issue, we ask that you view this linked training module on FortifyFL. It includes two videos featuring Superintendent David Broskie and Sheriff Michelle Cook discussing the seriousness of false reporting and the impact it has on our schools and community.

Thank you for working with us to ensure the safety and well-being of our entire school community.
