Academic Team

Academic Team Parent Permission Form
The Academic Team at Green Cove Springs Junior High School is offered to students who seek an intellectual challenge, personal growth, and the benefits of team membership. Students participate on the academic team in addition to their regular course load. Attendance, participation in team events, positive attitude, and support for team members are used for student assessment.
NOTE: Students should monitor their calendars carefully to avoid scheduling conflicting events. We will have to travel to different schools in Clay County for competition.

Interact Club Parent Permission Form
Interact Club is a service club for youth ages 12 to 18 and is part of Rotary International, the world’s first service club organization. The Interact Club of Green Cove Springs Junior High School (GCJ) is also a fun, social club for all students that promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership. As a member of the Interact Club, students will have opportunities to do school and community service to show involvement in their local community.

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NJHS/NHS activities. NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, Canada, and around the world. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

This is a club for students wishing to compete in the county science fair. This group of students will create a research project based on a testable scientific question. The students will complete paperwork, research, hypothesize, conduct an experiment, analyze data, and share their conclusion just like a scientist would for a real world test.
