RHS Scholarship Bulletin
Now is the time to set up accounts on the scholarship databases listed in the left hand column. Start applying early and for as many as you can. A lot of scholarship money goes unused because students don’t apply. Also check with the schools you plan to apply to.. They each have their own scholarship applications and deadlines.
It is also time to request your FSA ID. You will need this to complete your FAFSA. CLICK HERE for directions. BOTH you and your parents must request a FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA.

Tips for Successful Scholarship Applications:
Start Early
Answer all questions- even if they say optional
Use a scholarship database- such as FastWeb or Going Merry (see below for a list)
Talk to your School Counselor about local scholarships
Apply to less competitive scholarships- even the lower money amount ones
Get organized and don’t miss deadlines
Read and follow the directions carefully
Try recording yourself saying the answer to essay prompts first, then transcribe your responses
Personalize your essays and be passionate about something
Use a professional email address
Proofread and get help
Make a copy of your application before you submit it

High school seniors preparing for a career in horticulture. Award amounts vary.
FormSwift Startup Scholarship
High school seniors. Create a business plan infographic for a company in one of the designated industries. Awards $1,000. On-going with awards given in March, June, Sept, and Dec each year.

Scholarship Housing Option for Incoming UF/Sante Fe Students
Are you in need of low-cost housing that has an ALL-Inclusive deal? Do you need a place to call home away from home that has freshly cooked meals ready for you to enjoy? Travis W. Watkins Scholarship
The Travis W. Watkins Tax Resolution & Accounting Firm Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 award for any current or soon-to-be student. The Travis W. Watkins Scholarship has a brief and 100% confidential submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the importance of tax compliance as well as the journey of those challenges.

The Coolidge Scholarship
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any current high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2023 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). Winners may use the scholarship to pursue any academic major. Academic excellence is the primary criterion considered by the Coolidge Scholarship. Secondary criteria include an interest in public policy and an appreciation of the values President Coolidge championed. Successful candidates will also demonstrate humility and have a record of genuine service to their communities. A complete description of the scholarship’s criteria is available here. February 2022 Deadline:
Servin-Ellis Scholarship
Open to all high school seniors who plan to enroll in college for the 22-23 school year. Parent/guardian or student must be a member of Florida Credit Union. Interested students can also open a simple savings account for $5 to qualify. Multiple scholarships will be awards and amounts will vary. CLICK HERE for the application and further details. March 2022 Deadline:
Horatio Alger National and State Scholarship Program
The Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society. To be eligible: a current full time high school junior, plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution in the US, demonstrate financial need, be involved in community activities, display integrity and perseverance, minimum 2.0 GPA, and be a US citizen. American Society of Military Comptrollers (AMSC) Scholarship Program
The Greater Jacksonville/Kings Bay Chapter of the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) is soliciting applications for a $500.00 scholarship award to be given by their chapter/organization. Applicants must be seniors in a local high school, pursuing a college education in the field of Accounting, Finance, Business, or Computer Science.

April 2022 Deadline:
Clay Electric Scholarship Program
The scholarship program is limited to: Any public, private or home schooled high school senior whose home is served by Clay Electric and who will be graduating from high school at the end of the current school year (2021-2022). Application (please read carefully): • The student must complete all areas of the application on the reverse side of this sheet. Points will be deducted, by the judges, for incomplete areas. • The guidance counselor must complete and sign the center highlighted portion of the application. Be sure to have your guidance counselor complete and sign their portion prior to Spring Break week to ensure that your application will be completed and mailed prior to the April 4th deadline. • One letter of recommendation (from a teacher, principal, guidance counselor, employer, family friend, minister, etc.) is required and must accompany the application. • School transcripts are not required and should not be submitted with application. Deadline is April 4, 2022.
Vince Dooley Scholarship
The 2022 Vince Dooley Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman to the University of Georgia from the Jacksonville area for students that have been accepted to UGA for the 2022-2023 school year. CLICK HERE for the application. Deadline is April 16, 2022.
