The goal of the CCSD Health Education Curriculum is to support the District's strategic plan while providing comprehensive health education instruction for all students in grades K-12. This goal will result in youth who are health-literate, motivated to maintain and improve their health and who are less susceptible to preventable diseases by reducing their health-related risk behaviors. All curriculum is aligned with the Florida Standards, adopted in 2014, and incorporates research and best practices.

Our Health Education Program Learning Goals are taught at grade level:

• To align our curriculum, instruction and assessment in accordance with Florida Standards and Benchmarks

• To help students experience a positive mental/emotional development

• To help students develop positive communication, interpersonal and coping skills

• To help make students aware of responsible decision making

• To help students develop good nutrition and health habits

• To help students understand harmful situations

• To prepare our students for a healthy lifestyle for a lifetime
