In celebration of Earth Day, we’re proud to spotlight some incredible Earth Club students who spent their Saturday making a difference at the Crosby Sanctuary! Six dedicated Panthers volunteered their time (one preferred to stay behind the scenes and not be pictured) to support environmental conservation efforts. During the work day, they picked up trash along the trails, weeded the native plant garden, checked water quality, and cleaned and refilled bird feeders to help support local wildlife. Thank you to our Earth Club members for showing what it means to care for our planet through action and stewardship. Your efforts are a true reflection of Panther pride! 💚🌿#PanthersRISE

Ms. Fortner’s Chemistry students explored acids and bases using a natural pH indicator: red cabbage. They boiled the cabbage to extract flavin, a pigment that changes color depending on the pH of a solution. Then, they tested various substances to determine if they were acidic, basic, or neutral. This was a fun and visual way to dive into chemical reactions! #PanthersRISE

In Forensic Science, our students stepped into the role of crime scene investigators by analyzing five different sand samples! They examined six key characteristics—source, color, shape, sorting, size, and mineral content—to determine how each sample differed. This hands-on lab reinforced how even the smallest particles can provide big clues in forensic investigations. Understanding these subtle differences is crucial when evaluating trace evidence from crime scenes. Science in action at Ridgeview—because every grain tells a story! #PanthersRISE

Our Little Paws and Early Childhood Education students had an unforgettable day of hands-on learning and adventure at the Jacksonville Museum of Science and History. From exploring interactive science exhibits to diving into local history and getting up close with fascinating animal displays, our students were fully engaged and curious every step. It was a fantastic opportunity for future educators to guide and support our youngest Panthers as they experienced museum learning in action! To top it all off, the group enjoyed a scenic lunch near Friendship Fountain, with a breathtaking view of the St. Johns River and downtown Jacksonville. #PanthersRISE

Mrs. Yancey’s World History students are bringing learning to life as they explore the continent of Africa through food! In a delicious hands-on activity, students made seafood turnovers inspired by African cuisine, similar to empanadas but filled with crayfish, crab, and African spices.
