💜 Honoring Our Military-Connected Students 💜 Today, we proudly recognized our incredible military-connected students at Ridgeview High School! These students demonstrate extraordinary resilience, strength, and adaptability, navigating the challenges of military life with courage and perseverance. From frequent relocations to long deployments, they continue to rise and thrive as valued members of our Panther family. We are honored to support these students and grateful for the sacrifices their families make in service to our country. To celebrate them, we hosted a special event filled with fun games, moments of relaxation, and Klondike bars—because who doesn’t need a sweet treat once in a while? A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Sue, our amazing Military Counselor, for organizing this meaningful celebration and for supporting our military families all year. Her dedication truly makes a difference. #PanthersRISE

Mrs. Yancey’s World History students are bringing learning to life as they explore the continent of Africa through food! In a delicious hands-on activity, students made seafood turnovers inspired by African cuisine, similar to empanadas but filled with crayfish, crab, and African spices. To make it their own, each student created a custom dipping sauce using sour cream, herbs, and condiments after a fun discussion on the familiar dishes each spice is commonly used in. The creativity (and flavor) was off the charts! #PanthersRISE

Students in Medical Skills and Health Science Foundations recently put their knowledge into action as they learned and demonstrated Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques for adults, children, and infants. From delivering effective compressions and breaths to practicing as both single and two-rescuer teams, these future healthcare professionals built life-saving skills. They also trained on how to use an AED and practiced strong team dynamics with clear roles and communication — all essential components for anyone entering the healthcare field. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Charles’ Algebra 2 students leveled up their math skills with a fast-paced and engaging “Log Race” board game! Designed to reinforce key concepts, the game challenged students to rewrite exponents and logarithms, expand and condense logarithmic expressions, and solve exponential and logarithmic equations. Working in teams, they raced across the board by answering correctly and applying their learning in real time—all while having a blast and cheering each other on! #PanthersRISE

Ms. Ryan’s AICE Psychology students took their learning to the next level with a competitive Chutes and Ladders–style review game! In teams of four, students tested their knowledge of the 12 key studies they’ve explored this year, evaluating each in terms of generalizability, reliability, validity, and ethics. Here’s the twist: no notes allowed, and you can’t roll the dice unless you get the question right! With the game board projected on the screen, students brought energy, strategy, and critical thinking to the classroom. What a great way to prepare and review! #PanthersRISE

Our students had an incredible time exploring the fair during AgrAbilities Day! This field trip allowed our Panthers to learn about agriculture through hands-on experiences and engaging exhibits. From seeing farm animals up close to exploring the role of agriculture in our everyday lives, it was a day packed with discovery, fun, and fresh fair food too! We’re so grateful for opportunities like this that bring learning to life outside the classroom. #PanthersRISE

Our Dual Enrollment Biology students at RHS engaged in hands-on learning by exploring the conditions enzymes need to function effectively. Students tested how environmental changes, like heat, impact enzyme activity using test tubes, controlled temperatures, and careful observations. Seeing our Panthers applying scientific concepts in real-time experiments and collaborating to deepen their understanding of biology is always exciting. #PanthersRISE

Ms. Derousie’s Pre-IB/Pre-AICE Chemistry students took their learning beyond the textbook by designing and carrying out a hands-on lab to determine the concentration of acetic acid in unknown vinegar samples. After running their experiments and collecting data, students collaborated to analyze results and discuss possible sources of error, just like real scientists do! It was a full day of critical thinking, teamwork, and meaningful exploration. #PanthersRISE

Our RHS Health Academy students recently partnered with MHS CNA students for a heartwarming experience at the fair! Each pair of students was matched with a senior from Penny Retirement Community, helping ensure they could safely enjoy all the fair had to offer—from the art and animals to the Old Florida exhibit and, of course, the food! Thanks to this incredible collaboration, the seniors had a memorable day, and our students got to explore the fair themselves for a bit afterward. As you can see in the last photo, they made the most of their time! #PanthersRISE

Could you have survived the Great Depression? Ms. Ryan’s government students recently put themselves to the test through a cross-curricular budgeting simulation that blended history, math, and economics. Each student rolled the dice to determine their monthly income, then navigated seven months of financial surprises—some helpful, others not so much. From unexpected expenses to small windfalls, they tracked their budgets and made tough decisions about how to spend or save. At the end of the game, students reflected on whether they stayed afloat or fell into debt, and if they could keep their homes. A powerful, hands-on way to bring the past to life! #PanthersRISE

Our amazing NHS and Interact students have been hard at work, spreading kindness and creativity in our community! They designed and decorated beautiful tote bags for residents at the nursing home they have adopted, crafted adorable teddy bears from hand towels to be given to children at fire stations, and made colorful paper tulips to add an extra touch of cheer. Some teddy bears and tulips will be placed in the tote bags to brighten the day of those who receive them. We are grateful to the Green Cove Springs community member who generously donated many of the materials through Facebook and our supportive Rotary Club sponsors. #PanthersRISE

Mr. Zanone's Transition Works students showcased their hard work and dedication by hosting a plant sale at our district office this week. The students cultivated and cared for the plants in our school greenhouse, learning valuable skills in horticulture and customer service along the way. Pictured is Frank Tran, one of our dedicated Transition Works students, assisting a customer at the plant sale. Forensic Science students investigated three different soil samples using two distinct methods as part of their soil texture analysis unit. First, they applied the touch method, guided by a flow chart, to assess the texture. Next, they utilized a water column technique: after shaking the soil sample in water, distinct layers of sand, silt, and clay formed. By calculating the percentage of each component, students used a soil texture triangle to determine the soil type accurately. This hands-on investigation helped students understand how sand, silt, and clay proportions influence soil texture—an essential concept in forensic analysis! #PanthersRISE
