Forensic Science students investigated three different soil samples using two distinct methods as part of their soil texture analysis unit. First, they applied the touch method, guided by a flow chart, to assess the texture. Next, they utilized a water column technique: after shaking the soil sample in water, distinct layers of sand, silt, and clay formed. By calculating the percentage of each component, students used a soil texture triangle to determine the soil type accurately. This hands-on investigation helped students understand how sand, silt, and clay proportions influence soil texture—an essential concept in forensic analysis! #PanthersRISE

We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Diny Ulysses, Phillip Jackson, and Joshua Price, who have earned their HVAC Industry Certification - NCCER HVAC Level 1! Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to mastering the skills of the trade have truly paid off. We couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments and know they have a bright future in the HVAC industry. Way to go, Diny, Phillip, and Joshua. #PanthersRISE

Mr. Zanone's Transition Works students showcased their hard work and dedication by hosting a plant sale at our district office this week. The students cultivated and cared for the plants in our school greenhouse, learning valuable skills in horticulture and customer service along the way. Pictured is Frank Tran, one of our dedicated Transition Works students, assisting a customer at the plant sale. It was an excellent opportunity for our students to share their passion for gardening with the community while gaining hands-on experience in managing a successful event. Great job to Mr. Zanone and his students for their hard work and commitment! #PanthersRISE

Biology students explored the fascinating world of plant anatomy by dissecting flowers as part of the Plant Structure and Function unit. They carefully examined the various parts of the flower, identifying structures like the pistil, stamen, petals, and sepals, while exploring how each part plays a role in the plant's reproductive process. This hands-on activity helped students understand the intricate details of floral anatomy and how these structures support the plant's growth and reproduction. #PanthersRISE

This weekend, Chloe Crocker proudly represented Ridgeview at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference, where she showcased her incredible talent by competing in the Fashion Construction STAR Event, earning a silver medal and qualifying for nationals! As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Chloe also modeled her stunning dress at the Threads in Motion fashion show. Her creativity, dedication, and passion truly shone through; we couldn’t be prouder! #PanthersRISE

Ms. Foley's Biology students explored plant structures and functions by examining leaf stomata and guard cells. These tiny structures, located on the underside of leaves, play a crucial role in transpiration and gas exchange. To observe them up close, students applied clear nail polish to the underside of a leaf, allowed it to dry, carefully peeled it off with clear tape, and placed the tape on a slide to view the imprint under the microscope. It was an engaging, hands-on way to see science in action and understand how plants breathe and regulate water! #PanthersRISE

Ridgeview HOSA students made an impressive debut at HOSA’s Florida State Conference! These future health professionals truly shined, showcasing their skills and dedication. We are so proud of their hard work and accomplishments! #PanthersRISE

This week, we are celebrating Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! It’s the perfect time to recognize our incredible AP team's hard work and dedication: Mr. Barker, Ms. Stoltzfus, and Ms. Williams. They go above and beyond daily to support our students, staff, and families. Whether handling the unexpected, guiding students to success, or offering support to our teachers, they truly embody what it means to be dedicated leaders. Their commitment to our school makes Ridgeview a better place, and we couldn’t do it without them!
Let’s take some time this week to show our appreciation and let them know how much we value their contributions. A kind word, a note, or a simple thank you can go a long way in showing our gratitude. #PanthersRISE

Mr. Pike's Physics 1 students are lighting up their learning! In the Electric Current and Circuits module, students took part in a hands-on Launch Lab using batteries, wires, and lightbulbs to explore how electric current works. Their experiments discovered that a complete loop is essential for current to flow. Students recorded each trial by diagramming their circuits, emphasizing that "trial and error" is vital to scientific discovery. By documenting both successful and unsuccessful attempts, they learned that even negative results are valuable in science, because, as scientists know, we often learn the most from our so-called "failures." #PanthersRISE

Our talented art students in Ms. Generazio’s class put their spin on a collaborative acrylic vector painting project! Each student started with the same geometric design and used vibrant paints to make the pattern uniquely their own. It’s amazing to see how the same starting point can result in so many diverse and colorful interpretations! #PanthersRISE

Congratulations to our RISE Staff of the Week! These two exemplify what it means to be a Ridgeview Panther! #PanthersRISE
Mr. Suarez, HVAC Teacher
Ms. Johnson, Attendance Secretary

Last night, we were thrilled to see some of Ridgeview’s brightest stars recognized at the School Board meeting!
🎓 Roman Morale was honored as one of only five National Merit Scholars in our school district! This incredible achievement is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and academic excellence. We couldn’t be prouder!
🎭 Several talented theater students also received well-deserved recognition for their outstanding performances at the State Thespian Festival! Congratulations to Savannah Hudson, Monica Brice, Lucy Bressler, and Jillian McKinney for earning Superior ratings! Your creativity and passion continue to shine both on and off the stage.

Freshmen in Mrs. Crews' and Mrs. Dupont's English classes engaged with the FAST Writing platform by collaboratively evaluating sample essays against the official grading rubric. Students read each essay, analyzed its strengths and weaknesses, and determined the appropriate scores in each category through group discussions, justifying their decisions with evidence. The official grade was revealed only after the groups reached a consensus, encouraging critical thinking and teamwork. In addition to scoring, students discussed improving the sample essays, sharpening their skills by thinking like evaluators! #PanthersRISE

On Tuesday, Ms. Aranda’s freshman English students prepared for their upcoming FAST Writing Assessment. They reviewed their previous argumentative writing assignment, using the SAVVAS platform to draft their responses, receive feedback, and make revisions. After reflecting on their final scores and targeted feedback, students practiced navigating the FAST Writing Assessment platform with Ms. Aranda’s guidance, learning to interpret prompts and use tools like highlighting and note-taking. To wrap up, they revisited the writing rubric, building confidence and refining their writing skills before today's assessment.

Ms. Klaes’s Astronomy students recently took on the exciting challenge of exploring space travel and rockets while applying Newton's Laws of Motion! Specifically, they focused on Newton's Third Law by launching balloon rockets. Students filled balloons with air, attached them to a straw on a string, and let them go, measuring the distance traveled and the time taken to calculate speed. To make it even more interesting, they conducted multiple trials, including adding metal washers as a payload. #PanthersRISE
